8.5×11 | print and bind yourself | 200+ pages

Tina’s Dynamic Homeschool Plus 7 Step Planner is a downloadable planner for you to print and bind yourself.

There are a large variety of very colorful page options. Most pages are a free download, but there are upgradable options for just a few dollars.

You can actually download a complete planner from her site, cover to cover, for free. And you get to choose what pages to include! Of course there is added cost in printing and binding to consider.

A few pages have upgrade options that are editable PDFs. This means you pay a couple dollars then you can add the column or row labels of your choice so you don’t have to write those in on each page. You could even change them part way through the year if your needs change.

7 step planners

As the name states, there are 7 steps to this 7 Step Homeschool Planner. The site walks you through each step, offering multiple options for each step. The options most commonly are color choices rather than layout changes, but there are some of both.

Each step includes explanations and instructions on how the layouts are designed to be used.

The 7 Steps of the Planner are:

  1. Choosing a front/back cover and title page
  2. Choose calendars (Yearly, year-at-a-glance, monthly, and holiday list)
  3. Choose goals and objectives: 5 layout options
  4. Choose daily lesson planning pages
  5. Choose unique forms. There are so many choices she has divided this step into 3 pages. Page options included below.
  6. Personalize it (tips for personalization and tabs)
  7. Bind it! Love it! (tips)

Here is a list of some of the form options included in step 5:

  • Weekly Planning
  • Reading Log
  • Day at a glance
  • Attendance charts
  • Resource Lists
  • High School Planning
  • Grade sheets
  • Schedules
  • Progress reports
  • Multiplication charts
  • Field trips
  • Community service
  • Memorization

This 7 step homeschool planner is designed to be used as an undated daily planner. But if daily is too much for you, then leave those pages out! Or you could also bind them separately.

There are special printing instructions included toward the bottom of this page that are helpful to read. Do keep in mind that this planner can be quite thick, so if using your personal printer, it can really use some ink! I had a printer break while printing all these pages one year. 😂

I used Tina’s Dynamic Homeschool Plus 7 Step Planner for 2 years. It may have been the first planner I actually used after beginning homeschooling. I loved it! They ended up being pretty thick in the end!

The customization of this planner was very helpful, especially as I was just starting out homeschooling. I was able to try a variety of pages and decide what pages were helpful and which were not. Of course, this led to some planner pickiness and snobbery in the future I’m sure.

Tina is quite opinionated about having your planner coil bound. She says using a 3 ring binder can basically lead to decision fatigue where you are always moving pages around and such.

This may be good advice for a new planner user, and I understand her point. But I definitely disagree. I think having the flexibility of moving pages around, adding pages, removing pages is very helpful to make a planner the best planner for you. There is no need to box yourself in if you don’t have to.

However, if you agree that the amount of flexibility could be overwhelming to you, then by all means coil bind!

My planners were coil bound at the office store when I used her planner pages. I just made sure to organize them well and add any pages I wanted before binding. I even added some of my own page designs and other pages I found across the internet.

Tina has a couple other planner options in addition to her 7 step planner. A Student planner is available here. And her home management binder here.
