The Plum Paper Homeschool Teacher Planner is one of the most customizable planners out there for homeschoolers. Not only are there several options to choose from of size, layout, and cover design. But you can also personalize it!
Of course with all this customization, the price can shoot up quite quickly! So while the base price is low, every add-on and customization is usually an extra fee.
This planner comes in 3 sizes: A5 (5.8×8.3), 7×9, and 8.5×11. You can choose between metal coil binding, disc bound punches (no discs included), or no binding.
There are so many cover designs to choose from, probably hundreds, though I’ve not counted them. Sayings, pictures, patterns, solids, monograms, themes. And once you decide on the design, you are also able to add personalized titles and even a picture of your own to the cover.
The cover material is a very sturdy type of flexible plastic. It is nearly impossible to tear so it will withstand some trauma. If that isn’t enough, there is another layer of clear plastic over top of that!
Each planner begins with annual calendars and yearly overviews.
This is followed by monthly sections with solid color tabbed dividers. You can choose between a set of “modern” colors for the pages and dividers, neutral colors (7×9 only), or a brighter variety of colors.
Six months of pages are included in the base price for the two smaller planners. You have the ability to upgrade to 12, 13, or 14 months. The larger size automatically comes with at least 12 months.
You can also choose which month to start with and decide between a Sunday or Monday start.
If you want to include holidays on your monthly spreads, you can choose which to add and even add your own birthdays and events.
There are 3 basic weekly layouts to choose from. Each size of planner has slight variations within these layouts, but they are generally the same.
Layout option one has all 7 days of the week in the columns, with 6 unlabeled rows. There are also 2-3 other small sections for other lists.
The second layout option has all 7 days of the week in rows with 7 unlabeled columns. There is one other space for notes.
The third layout option has rows for Monday-Friday and 7 unlabeled columns. There is no extra space for other notes.
If you would like, everything that is unlabeled can be customized on the weekly spreads. You can label the columns/rows as well as the extra sections however you desire. There are some suggestions given or you can add your own titles. You can also leave some blank for flexibility.
The Plum Paper Homeschool Teacher Planner comes with a set of basic homeschool tracking pages within its own tabbed section. The pages included are:
- Yearly goals
- Year at a glance
- Resource lists
- Supply lists
- Attendance record
- Reading logs
- Extracurricular activities
- Grading log
- Field trip log
- Evaluation
- Checklists
- Stickers
You also have the ability to add on other planning sections. But you are only able to add 60 more pages due to the size restriction of the binding. That may sound like a lot, but once you start looking through the options, it can be hard to not want to add them all!
There are a ton of options for add-ons. Some of the options include:
- Meal plans
- Shopping list
- Cleaning list
- Various Stickers
- Budgeting
- Direct sales
- Blogging
- Social media
- Photography
- Business
- Passwords
- Mileage
- Fitness
- Travel
- Notes
- Coloring Pages
- Extra homeschool pages (for multiple students, if desired)
Yep, it’s a lot. And that’s not even all of them!
Note that all homeschool planners already come with the homeschool pages, so if you add on more homeschool pages, this would be duplicates. If you want separate pages for all your students, this could be a great option. Though the one basic set could easily be used for all students together.
One other thing to mention about the add-ons is that they can come in multiple formats. Section add-ons are a group of pages that come together behind a tabbed divider. Tabbed add-ons is one page that is duplicated and added behind a tabbed divider.
A dispersed add-on is one double sided page that is placed at the end of each month in your planner.
Some add-ons come in one format, some come in multiple. They are marked as such.
And that is it! Like I said before, Plum Paper is highly customizable as you now know! So if you like to really make a planner your own, this might just be the one for you!
If the customizations overwhelm you, there is a simplified ordering system you can choose to go through. You can find this in small print toward the bottom right of the ordering screen.
This greatly narrows down many of your choices. You will only have to decide on the cover and personalization, the inside colors and the start month. It automatically uses the first weekly layout option. You can choose between 5 add-ons or click through to the full list if desired.
The Plum Paper website is a very nicely laid out website. Even with all the customizations, I rarely felt lost while ordering. The steps are very clearly laid out and pictures of the options are right in front of you to peruse.
Do keep in mind it will take a while to get through all the decision making so allow plenty of time for ordering!
As you might assume, Plum Paper offers a lot of other types and styles of planners on their site. Including student planners and goal planners. They also sell notebooks, stickers, stationary, and other accessories.
There is often a promo for free shipping over $75. But definitely keep watch for other sales and promos throughout the year.
