The Gather ‘Round Homeschool Planner is a full size spiral bound planner that is fully undated so it works for starting in any month. It is a very bright and colorful planner.
The cover is a glossy cardstock. Paper of the planner is nice and thick with a slight gloss to them as well.
Because Gather ‘Round is a family style unit study curriculum company, this planner looks quite a bit different than many other homeschool planners on the market. But don’t let that keep you away, as many of the pages have unique layouts that are quite appealing to any schooling style. You could still easily use this planner with any curriculum choice.
There is a definite bullet journal feel to this planner.
The first few pages of the planner include an annual overview, a website password list, and family meal favorites. There is also a small booklist followed by attendance trackers.
This planner for homeschool has 12 monthly sections. Each month has unique watercolor style art work and themes. Each monthly section includes the following:
- Title page
- Gratitude list
- Scripture memory
- Bible study
- Prayer and praise section
- Unit study planning
- Supplies needed
- Monthly calendar with habit tracker
- Unlabeled weekly layouts
The Gather ‘Round Homeschool Planner is not exactly a restful planner in presentation. The contrast of the writing space with the bright colors and pictures are pretty distracting on some pages. The watercolor pictures are quite beautiful and fun, though, so it may be worth getting used to. There is at least one black and white drawing each month for a coloring page.
Shipping of product was a little higher priced than some companies. I believe Gather ‘Round Homeschool is Canada based, which could explain the higher shipping costs. Though I have seen their booth at larger homeschool conventions, so possibly buying at convention could be helpful with this cost.
Gather ‘Round also has a digital version of their homeschool planner on their website. A student tracker journal is also available.
