The Happy Planner Homeschool Classic Extension Pack is a pack of about 100 undated planning pages that are unbound, yet have typical Happy Planner disc binding punches. Discs are not included. It is about 7 x 9, which is considered Happy Planner’s ‘classic’ size. There are 2 pages of nice stickers included. It does not include a cover.

As the pages come packaged, they are divided into 4 monthly sections with tab dividers and 25 pages in each section. Of course these pages can easily be re-arranged.

Each month includes a monthly layout, a monthly overview page, THREE full-year attendance sheets, four grade tracking pages, 4 reading lists, four lesson planning pages, four weekly layouts, and a notes page.

The overview page includes goals, resources, a prep list, field trip section, and a blank quote box. The layout of this page seems quite useful.

This Happy Planner homeschool planner pack has many of the basic layouts that seem to be included in many homeschool planners. But like all the planners not made by actual homeschoolers, these pages seem to be pulled from traditional teacher planners and converted to be what someone thinks a homeschooler may want

The planner pack may work for many homeschoolers, but I feel like overall the pages could be better. It’s in the details, folks.

This is evidenced by the number of attendance sheets included each month. These are laid out like full year attendance sheets yet multiple are included for each month. There are also no annual planning pages included in this pack. Though of course, pages could obviously be ordered how you prefer.

The extension pack is designed to be used with a Classic Happy Planner. You could also just buy some Happy Planner cover pages of your choice and some discs for binding the pages to finish it out simply.

Since this extension pack has monthly and weekly layouts, another full planner may be redundant in some ways. While not using another planner will be lacking in binding, covers, and any yearly pages desired.

Another glaring issue with this planner pack is that it only includes 4 months. So to have a full year’s worth of monthly and weekly spreads, you would need to buy three of these packs, which adds up fast!

The most redeeming things with this planner pack is the stickers and the nice dividers. Some of the stickers included say things like “co-op class” and “field trip” for marking those days on your calendar, as well as numbers and months written out for labeling the undated calendars. So they aren’t completely unknowledgeable when it comes to homeschoolers.

The dividers also have nice sayings like, “together they created a school they loved.”

To learn more about Happy Planner’s disc binding system, I have included information about it in another review here.

Happy Planner has also released a full year Homeschool Planner, though it is admittedly hard to find. For more info and links, check out my review on the Happy Planner Wake Up and Teach Homeschool Planner here.
