The Journey
When we started our homeschool journey back in 2015, I often found myself staring at stacks of books, wondering, How will I teach all this? How will I keep up? How do I balance being “mom” and “teacher” without losing myself in the process?
Over the years, I’ve learned that homeschool planning doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s not about creating a picture-perfect classroom at home. It’s about building rhythms and systems that actually work for your family.
That’s why I started this site:
- To share the planning strategies that have helped me go from scattered to steady.
- To give you practical tools like my Footpath Homeschool Planner line, created to bring calm to chaotic days.
- To remind you that you don’t have to do this alone, and that you really are enough for this journey.
Matt and I were both homeschooled ourselves, and now with three kids of our own, I’m still learning, adjusting, and refining as our family grows. My hope is that what I share here helps you breathe easier, find confidence, and even enjoy the ride a little more.
I believe you don’t have to be the “perfect” homeschool mom (spoiler: she doesn’t exist). You just need tools and support that help you show up for your kids with confidence.

A Few Fun Facts About Me
Because homeschooling isn’t the only thing that makes life interesting…
- I have a BS in Vocal Performance (music is still a love of mine).
- I’m great at getting laundry washed and dried…folding is another story.
- Cheeseburgers are my favorite comfort food.
- I’ve moved more than 25 times (and lived in 9 different states).
- I’m also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
- I love being crafty and usually have a project (or three) in progress.
